|Position Description:||Il Cielo, a new upscale Italian restaurant on Sanibel Island in Florida is seeking an organized, self-motivated, hard-working chef with the experience and sense of humor necessary to guide this new venture through the important start-up phase and beyond. The restaurant seats 150 guests for regular service and on-site catered events.|
The position demands creativity on a daily basis, excellent communication skills, and the ability to maintain the highest of culinary standards while working under pressure. Other pluses include, a positive mental attitude, a well-groomed appearance, and an outgoing personality.
The Executive Chef will be responsible for menu development, planning and execution of private events, product ordering and inventory, maintaining acceptable food costs, food preparation, scheduling and oversight of kitchen staff, and kitchen sanitation.
Requirements include a minimum of 7 years full-service, fine-dining restaurant experience. Culinary degree or equivalent experience is also required. Previous supervisory experience is necessary.
