Restaurant Nora, America's first certified organic restaurant, is looking for a food buyer/chef.
Qualifications for this position include:
-An interest in organic, seasonal, and local products and produce -Professional cooking skills necessary -Knowledge of keeping an inventory -Computer skills (especially Excel spreadsheet experience) preferred -Needs to be personable and friendly, with good communication skills
Although it's challenging to deal with all of the certified organic local farmers and purveyors, it would be the perfect job for the right person. The position is 60% being a buyer (including the physical aspects of receiving and putting away deliveries, organizing the walk-ins daily, and keeping the organic certification book up to date for annual inspections) and 40% being a chef.
The position is full-time, and we are willing to train the right candidate (although experience in a professional kitchen is required). Salary commensurate with experience.
