Position Description:We are looking for a Chef / Cook to:

Create meals from provided menus. Our food philosophy is an emphasis on fresh whole ingredients, home baked products, a blending of modern trends in flavor with traditional home cooking, and a fresh, bold presentation

Exhibit creative use of available ingredients

Utilize locally grown products to support our fresh, whole ingredient commitment
Our food is almost always served buffet style: ability to create beautiful and bountiful looking buffet displays preferred

Supervise food ordering, within a budget, from numerous vendors

Maintain inventory of supply on hand

Exhibit ability to train and supervise assistant cook and food service assistants

Provide meaningful work experience for the interns who serve as our food service assistants

Maintain a fun and rewarding work environment in the food service area

Maintain our reputation for providing high quality, delicious food that keeps our guests returning year after year

Cost Control and Managing Budget

Maintaining of a clean work space

Manage proper food handling, cooling, and storage regime
Lots of interaction with our guests

Work Day: The days at Ogontz are expectedly long as we serve three meals a day to our guests. We provide our staff with rustic accommodations and a shared shower/toilet facility. During off hours, our staff is welcome to enjoy the camp grounds and facility (ie: Lake, boats, tennis, trails, etc.).

DATES: Immediate - September 11th (Dates are somewhat negotiable)

PAYMENT: Salary for the season, to include free room and board, laundry facilities, and use of camp facilities during time off

Ogontz is a wonderful place to work for energetic creative individuals who enjoy a sense of family and the beauty of outdoors.

Our goal is to have an efficient operation with a friendly attentive staff. We are looking to employ people who are friendly, cheerful with visitors as well as with fellow employees, can work as part of a team, are self starters, and hard workers. Each staff member is highly visible to our guests and we ask that they present and neat and clean appearance.

Experience in kitchen management necessary
Experience in banquet and/or buffet and quantity food service preferred
Strong Interpersonal Skills
Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds a minimum of 50 feet
Company Profile:Private Seasonal camp and events facility in Northern NH is seeking an experienced chef or cook to work in our camp kitchen this summer. Ogontz is primarily an arts facility, providing a venue for a collection of different workshops and symposiums throughout the summer with varied clientele. The season also includes a small collection of private and corporate functions.

Ogontz houses and feeds anywhere from 50 - 200 guests, providing them 3 meals a day, 7 days a week.

Ogontz is a unique event experience operating as a creative collaborative effort to sustain its operation. Most of our groups have each of our guests participating in chores to support the running of our facility. Some of which (ie. food prep, dishwashing, etc.) require direct collaboration with the kitchen staff.

Ogontz is famous amongst its clientele for providing amazing meals using whole fresh ingredients. We work on a tight budget to provide upscale food service in a rustic setting. This provides us with a "WOW" factor that our guests have come to expect.
