|Position Description:||Bin on the lake wine bar and restaurant is located on the shores of Lake Washington at the wonderful and classic Woodmark Hotel. Bin is a busy, upscale wine-centric hot spot offering 80+ wines by the glass paired with local and seasonal new American fare. A fantastic opportunity is available for the right accomplished northwest chef who is a rock start in the kitchen and a possible up &comer in the Seattle/NW restaurant community.|
Bin is currently seeking a new Chef de Cuisine to lead Bin and the culinary team to the next level. The right candidate should:
-possesses above average knowledge and insight into food/wine pairing.
-have a culinary style in keeping with the restaurant's seasonal/Northwest/local/American Fare.
- be comfortable talking to the guests-they will focus some energy working the floor, shaking hands, kissing babies etc.
-be guest first-minded. This person should have no problem "buying-in" to the standards of brilliance (our promise to our guests); in fact, they should exemplify these qualities.
-understand that "special orders do not upset us" and should be able to cultivate that mentality within the culinary team.
-be invested in the financial success of the restaurant.
-understand the needs of a business and maintain a revenue capture mentality.
This is a managerial position with key leadership responsibilities. The successful candidate will role model the values and qualities described in our Mission-Values-Goals. The ideal candidate will be capable of leading their team to produce high quality food at a fast pace. We are looking for a person who understands our key competitive distinctions-someone who is probably somewhat competitive, but understands that while we take what we do seriously, we don't take ourselves too seriously.

The ideal candidate should have:
-Strong knowledge of food and wine with particular emphasis on the areas of food preparation, presentation, and wine pairing
-Experience supervising a professional kitchen with responsibility for meeting established quality and quantity standards, production, and inventory management
-Minimum five years work experience in culinary positions in a variety of restaurant settings, including a minimum of two years of kitchen management
-The ability to model assertive hospitality to internal and external customers
-Accurate keyboarding skills; familiar with MS Word, Office Outlook, and Excel
-A current Food Handlers card
-Strong written and verbal communication skills
-Attention to detail and a passion for cuisine
