|Position Description:||jo's bistro and chef colin kruzic are looking for young strong line cooks to join the team. what we need is passion, dedication, and appreciation for structure. this is not an easy job. knowledge of french, italian, and japanese cuisine is preferred, culinary school is not. if you have ever attended the CIA, please do not respond. other schools will be dealt with on a case to case basis. while i do not prefer a culinary school grad, i do need someone with enough experience to know how to not cut/burn themselves, a sense of timing and urgency, and a working knowledge of the culinary landscape of not just NYC but abroad as well. the challenges here are as much intellectual as they are physical. |
jo's bistro is located in NoLiTa and serves progressive new american comfort food. we are open for seven dinner services and two brunches, saturday and sunday. we are a small, tightly knit staff, not looking to get bigger, but better. to obtain this position you will be asked to out-perform a member of the existing team. i am a very hands on chef and am willing to teach the right person the skills it takes to become a better cook.
