Santa Monica's FIG restaurant is searching for passionate, creative and hands on candidates for their Chef de Cuisine position. The Chef de Cuisine directs daily kitchen operations and provides professional leadership and input to kitchen staff. They are responsible for ordering, cost control, supervision, payroll, training as well as menu planning and execution.
As a restaurant that holds high the values or sustainability, seasonality and environmental stewardship, the position demands an appreciation for and commit to working with small farms, ranches, fisheries and creameries to source the best available product.
Candidates should be prepared to run a kitchen with high expectations of themselves and those around them. This person should be energetic, motivating, and creative as well as having the discipline to stay calm and productive in stressful situations. Strong organizational skills are a must.
