StarChefs.com is growing. While print publications are suffering, on-line marketing continues to grow. StarChefs is looking to add to our marketing team and is accepting resumes for a full-time Account Executive/Marketing Manager to support our online marketing initiatives in the food and beverage industry as well as our events, The International Chefs Congress in September and our Rising Stars Galas to be held this June, September and November.
The Account Executive/Marketing Manager will be responsible for working with a premier group of domestic and international advertisers to create and manage marketing campaigns on StarChefs.com. Applicants should have experience with proposal writing, market research, social media, creative media, sponsorship execution, and be able to provide strategic insights through regular campaign reporting. You will manage the partner marketing relationships and support and services requirements (including tracking, measuring, and analyzing performance of online programs). You will play a key role in developing new online strategies for attracting and retaining customers such and have hands-on experience using web content management tools (trafficking, newsletters, SEO) and should feel comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams (Design & Editorial) to execute and optimize campaigns. In addition, you will collaborate with senior management to define the online business plans, outlining key business strategies including metrics, financial projections and growth of online initiatives. A high degree of initiative and the ability to make recommendations and take action are desirable. Creativity, attention to detail, and time management are critical to the job.
The ideal candidate should have at least three years experience working with sponsors, be comfortable in a non-corporate environment, and possess general knowledge of trade show/event production, from sales and marketing perspective. Tasks include: phone interaction with exhibitors and potential exhibitors; interaction and coordination of programming with chefs and/or culinary demonstrations; overseeing budgets, reports and event planning. In addition, candidate should be comfortable with a hands-on approach during events. Some domestic travel is involved, approximately 20 travel days per year.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years experience at an agency or other magazine managing sponsors and executing events and be a proactive, self-motivated team player with a sense of humor. Candidates should have a demonstrated knowledge about food and wine, and be proficient in Excel, Power Point, and Access. Compelling and inspiring verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent creative, analytical and organizational skills are required. Management and supervisory experience, ability to inspire and guide a team and customers a must.
