|Position Description:||We are currently accepting resumes for an editorial internship. If you have professional culinary experience (via schooling and/or kitchen work) and a flair for writing, please apply!|
Interning with us will provide you substantive and challenging work experiences. You will have the opportunity to develop specific skills (i.e. research, writing, fact-checking, and presentation skills) within the exciting world of culinary publication. By the end of your internship you will be versed in the culinary world - the people, places, tools, and techniques. More importantly, you will have a set of published articles to add to your portfolio.
Because we are a small company (15 employees), you have the opportunity to really make an impact on the company and the service we provide. Internships are for five months in our New York City office and are NOT PAID.
In order to benefit from an internship with us you will need to be a self-starter capable of doing largely unsupervised editorial work in our busy NY office. You will need deep culinary knowledge, strong writing and research skills, solid interpersonal skills, an entrepreneurial spirit, a gregarious personality, and a drive for results. Our ideal candidate has a culinary degree or equivalent kitchen experience, was an English, Journalism or Communications major in college, has at least one year of professional working experience under his/her belt.
A love for and intimate knowledge of food is A MUST.
