The International Culinary School at The Art Institute of California ? San Francisco launched in October 2008. We have opportunities for part-time culinary faculty who have a genuine interest in working in a college setting to help students achieve their dreams and career goals. The Art Institute is one of the nation?s leaders in postsecondary career-oriented education for the creative arts. The International Culinary School offers an associate?s degree in culinary arts and a bachelor?s degree in culinary management.
We are currently seeking four part-time chef instructors to teach weekday and/or evening sections of the following courses for Fall quarter, from October 5 through December 18, 2009:
? Fundamentals of Classical Techniques (two 5-hour labs per week for 11 weeks) ? World Cuisine: Spain, Middle East, Turkey, Greece, Africa and India (one 5-hour lab per week for 11 weeks) ? Garde Manger (two 5-hour labs per week for 11 weeks) ? Planning & Controlling Costs (one 3-hour lecture per week for 11 weeks)
Position Requirements: ? Bachelor?s degree required. No exceptions. ? If the Bachelor?s degree is not in culinary arts or a related field, candidates must provide proof of 15 to 18 credit hours in culinary arts, hospitality or a related field ? Previous teaching experience preferred ? Superior communication and interpersonal skills
