|Position Description:||Highly Acclaimed, High Profile, Independent Restaurant on the West Coast Seeking Executive Chef|
This restaurant has won James Beard and Food & Wine Magazine Awards. This is an amazing opportunity for the chef to make a name for his or herself. The restaurant will have a very prominent re-launch with lots of media attention spearheaded by a top PR firm in the US.
Very rustic, seasonal, simple, highest quality ingredients. Mediterranean and Italian influences on the menu.
Small manageable restaurant of aprox 50 seats, so candidates with the following experience are welcome to apply: Exec Chef / Exec Sous / Chef de Cuisine / Sous
A great passion for rustic, regional Italian food and the use of local top quality seasonal ingredients.
The candidate must have a demonstrated ability to:
1) Develop menus and recipes
2) Ensure that all food is of top quality and consistent
3) Mentor and motivate line cooks
4) Manage food costs and stay within prescribed budgets
5) Manage labor costs and stay within prescribed budgets
6) Work with FOH to ensure optimal guest experience
7) Be well spoken and be willing to handle press, media, and promotional events with poise
8) Hire, train, and manage kitchen staff
The ideal candidate will have very strong leadership skills, strong work ethic, and know that yelling, bullying and humiliating staff is not the right way to manage people.
Offered will be a very competitive salary and great benefits, including 100% paid medical insurance, which only a couple of restaurants in the entire country can match.
Compensation will include a competative base salary plus a profit sharing plan and the potential to become a part owner.
