Chef is responsible for the successful culinary production operation as the working head chef of an independently owned Mexican restaurant, which serves authentic and handmade Mexican & Salvadorian cuisine in a fast paced, fun and colorful atmosphere. Must have knowledge of authentic Mexican and Salvadorian food and be ready and excited about running your own kitchen in an established neighborhood landmark.
*Good Supervisory, leadership, management and coaching skills.
*Excellent communication skills both written & verbal. Must know how to speak fluent Spanish and English. Kitchen Spanish is not sufficient.
*Understanding & experience in food cost & control practices/ Ordering and receiving.
*Menu and specials development.
*Organizational and sanitation skills
*Hiring, firing and training staff
*Experience with Mexican and Salvadorian cuisine.
*Must have a Virginia food license and be able to pass a criminal background check.
