ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: -training of all wait staff and busboys -training and supervision of wait staff and busboys during lunch and dinner -training and supervision of bartender during bar service hours -scheduling of wait staff, busboys and bartender to ensure that levels of guest service before, during and after meals are upheld -make sure that all the servers are completing their tasks in an efficient manner -make sure that all tables are being served properly before, during and after lunch & dinner -responsible for the overall dining experience -attendance and assistance during cocktail hours to ensure that bar service runs smoothly, including but not limited to acting as host/hostess -inventory control and reordering of wines, liquors, beers, mixers and any necessary bar stock -premium wine sales at any time -wine service during cocktails, before, during and after dinner -constant communication with executive chef regarding any menu changes, food allergies, special requests, guest concerns -relaying any instructions from executive chef to waitstaff/bartender/busboys
REQUIREMENTS: -minimum 4 years fine dining front of house experience -knowledge of wine and wine pairings -impeccable personal appearance and demeanor -ability to work with a "whatever it takes" attitude -flexibility with hours and duties -lift and carry 50 lbs -stand for long periods of time -willingness to work and learn -valid driver's license -adequate education/training and/or experience to complete all tasks associated with this position -Must be willing to respond to requests outside department
