Position Description:
Pro-active self-starter with working knowledge of international baking and pastry techniques, a high-degree of knowledge and respect for product, sense of seasonality, and experience working with South American ingredients. Candidate must have a minimum of 2 years experience in high-end pastry kitchens, and be someone who ensures that the brand is represented with professionalism, creativity, and culinary integrity.
Pastry Culinarian is responsible for production from scratch and manipulation of ingredients with a high level of skill & maintaining product quality. Candidate should have Bake Shop/Pastry Kitchen management skills including but not limited to costing, scheduling, staff management, inventory management, ordering , working through service, and maintaining production sheets, while ensuring that Baking and Pastry areas maintain all standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
Candidate must love to inspire and give back to the culinary community and must have the ability to supervise assistants and or in/externs as needed while coordinating and supervising production and service. Pastry Chef must have the ability to communicate in English and Spanish and work in an international team.
Baking and Pastry Degree from a Culinary Arts School or Equivalent preferred but not necessary, depending on experience. Fine-dining experience or Teaching experience or desire to teach in a Boutique Culinary Setting preferred.
