Position Description:
Chicago family with school-aged son is looking for a full-time Chef/House Manager to work 5-6 days per week in their Gold Coast home and assist and oversee with the following duties:
*Daily menu planning and meal preparation (Must be comfortable with preparing casual meals as often as more upscale or gourmet selections) *Overseeing household staff of 4 *Coordinate and schedule household vendors *Manage the details for larger dinner parties or cocktail parties, i.e. finalize menu, prepare food or oversee caterers, manage waitstaff, make sure that table are set appropriately, make sure guests are appropriately being cared for, etc. *Run household errands and handle grocery shopping
Ideal person will have previous private home or catering experience, have the confidence and outgoing, charismatic personality to manage a home and staff and have an eye for detail and concern himself with making sure the details and management of the home are being handled.
Family has an additional East coast home that this person will travel to 2 months during the summer. General weekly schedule is Monday to Friday from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm with flexibility required. Will work weekends as needed.
