|Position Description:||One if by Land, Two if by Sea is a busy fine dining restaurant in New York. We are seeking a highly qualified Sous Chef to work directly with the Executive Chef in running a busy kitchen. The style of cuisine is modern French with American and world influences.|
Duties will include constantly checking for quality control, working with and training line cooks, expediting, contributing and developing new recipes and menu items, controlling inventory and ordering.
This position requires professionalism, good communication skills with both the front and back of house, organizational abilities and proactive decision making. You will be in charge of and control the kitchen in the absence of the executive chef. The ideal candidate will be passionate about cooking and the industry, as well as ambitious and very creative.
Over 5 yrs on-the-job experience required in fine-dining kitchens with solid references from superiors and co-workers alike.
