EXECUTIVE CHEF - HOUSTON HOTEL

Position Description:We are seeking a highly creative and energetic professional Executive Chef for the Sheraton Suites near the Galleria, a 281 room all-suites hotel with over 8,000 sq. ft. of beautiful banquet space and an Omaha Steakhouse restaurant. Culinaire provides upscale food and beverage management services to a diverse collection of accounts including cultural arts centers, hotels, restaurants, private clubs, special event venues, zoos, and retail operations. We add value to our clients' enterprises by maintaining a distinctively high level of quality in our cuisine and service.

As Executive Chef, you will design, supervise, coordinate and participate in activities of the culinary team and other kitchen personnel in this highly successful location. This position is recognized as the technical expert, teacher and trainer for this operation and the culinary team. You will select and develop recipes, make presentations for clients, provide menu development, oversee food purchasing, establish food cost controls and offer solutions. You will be responsible for ensuring quality, consistency and creativity are at the highest level while maximizing the operation's personnel and resources.

Technical Requirements:
*Creative and innovative culinary skill while meeting property profit goals
*A teacher of the importance of consistency in preparation and presentation
*Thorough knowledge of food handling and preparation techniques
*Experience in production and execution of banquets and ala carte restaurant with emphasis on quality
*Instill safety and sanitation habits in all associates
*Current and cutting edge on new products, presentations, and technical execution
*Strong inventory and cost control with an understanding of finding solutions
*Past experience developing production sheets and schedules, job duties, and time lines
*2 or 4 year formal culinary degree from an accredited Culinary School
*6 years of culinary experience with no less that 3 years as an Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef

*Proven leadership to associates to achieve goals while maintaining a high expectation to standards in regards to quality and presentation
*Communicates goals and expectations and inspires associates to achieve goals and advance careers
*Build moral and spirit
*Participative management style, lead by example
*Instill a guest service attitude in all employees

Managerial and Business Skills:
*Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
*Excellent organizational and time management skills
*Strong budgetary, forecasting, and cost control skills
*Ability to consistently produce profit expectations
*Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and E-mail

This position offers a competitive compensation package including base salary and bonus program. Culinaire also offers medical, dental, and life insurance benefits, 401k with company match, paid vacation and holidays.
