Position Description:
THE HOTEL HERSHEY has received the AAA Four-Diamond Award for 27 consecutive years, the most of any resort or hotel in Pennsylvania. The Hotel has also earned the Mobil Four-Star distinction for more than 16 years.
This position is responsible for ensuring the quality and presentation of all pastry products created by The Hotel Hershey Pastry Shop.
Job Functions:
Functions include supervising preparation, sanitation, and safety in shop; interviewing , training, scheduling, and motivating staff; creating desserts, pastries, and baked goods used by The Hotel Hershey and other company outlets; developing new and exciting dessert presentations; assisting with recipes and costing for dessert menus; maintaining a current recipe file for all products; monitoring inventory levels and food and labor costs; and attending designated meetings. This position participates in a rotating Manager on Duty program.

Formal education in bakery/pastry arts and minimum 4 years experience in bake/pastry shop preferred. Prior management experience helpful. Proven experience with the production of chocolate, nougat, pulled and blown sugar, pastillage, etc., show pieces, pie dough, cakes, cookies, rolls/bread, pastries, icing, and desserts. Demonstrated leadership, motivation, communication, and organization skills. Professional image representative of property image.
Working Conditions:
Physical requirements include the ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs., handling, fingering, reaching, kneeling, tasting, smelling, repetitive motions, and communicating verbally. Schedule will vary according to operating needs, but will include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
