If you're anything like us, you spend your time thinking about food, restaurants and chefs. Lucky you - the greatest job just turned up!
StarChefs.com, an online magazine for the culinary industry, is now accepting applications for a creative, innovative, and - most importantly - customer service -savvy Culinary Ambassador.
The Culinary Ambassador will be the engine for StarChefs.com customer service efforts, managing its JobFinder, our customer lists, writing our JobFinder newsletters (Jobseeker, Employer, Pastry, Culinary Schools, and Top Ten Jobs), writing the daily Rumbles and Murmurs column keeping track of key industry job movements (chefs, sommeliers, pastry chefs, etc...) and job trivia.
You will support our current and new JobFinder customers which are leading restaurants, hotels, resorts, and multi-unit operators among others, introducing our JobFinder to new properties just opening their doors. Help our clients who are sometimes not web savy draft effective job ads and post their job ads on the web.
You will also work on StarChefs.com events, including four Rising Stars Revue events per year and the StarChefs.com International Chefs Congress. You can check out past events and learn more about us here: http://www.starchefs.com/chefs/risingstars
In addition to our four Rising Stars events, the Culinary Ambassador will have the distinction of coordinating our JobFinder presence at the third annual International Chef's Congress. This world-class culinary symposium will take place over three days in September in New York and feature seminars, a product fair, chef demonstrations and exclusive dinners that you can read about here: http://www.starchefs.com/events/icc/
The best candidate will have a minimum of two years experience in working in restaurants. He or she should have prior experience working with chefs, excel at satisfying the needs of customers and have demonstrated writing experience. You must love to surf the web, be extremely computer savvy and a survey junky. And if you have managed to work in human resources all the better!
Besides the above characteristics, the ideal candidate will have a high level of energy and work well both independently and as a part of a small, dedicated culinary magazine team. Knowledge and obsession of fine-dining restaurants, food and wine a real plus - more of a requirement really.
StarChefs.com is a focused yet relaxed, non-corporate company with a high-energy office dynamic and a food-centric office culture. If you're they type of person who needs and "in-box" of paperwork and memos on your desk, this is not the position for you, but if your dream is to please others, write catchy newsletters, and work with the top chefs around the country, then we'd love to meet you!
Please include why you are the best candidate for this position and your salary history in cover letter.
