SOUS CHEF - Roppongi Restaurant & Sushi Bar, San Diego, CA

We have an exciting opening for a Sous Chef for our award-winning Asian fusion concept located in La Jolla, CA to work with British-born Executive Chef Stephen B. Window. Mr. Window's career flourished throughout Great Britian and then he was recruited by Westin Hotels as Chef de Cuisine at its upscale seafood restaurant at the Westin Maui. With a foundation of classic French technique and a knowledge of Asian ingredients and culinary traditions, he was selected to run the kitchen at the luxurious Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Manila along with taking time to coach the Philippine National Culinary Team, bringing home 29 medals from the International Culinary Olympics. This success led him to America as Chef de Cuisine at Roy's Seattle, a venure to celebrity Chef Roy Yamaguchi at the Westin Seattle. Mr. Window has received top honors including the Institute of Americas' Chef of the Year (2001), Criitcs' Choice for Best Chef of 2003 by San Diego Magazine. and featured chef at the James Beard House in October 2002 and March 2004.
We seek candidates with at least 3 years experience in a supervisory kitchen position with a solid foundation and knowledge of Asian Fusion ingredients, culinary traditions and cuisine. Must possess strong leadership skills and the ability to thrive in a high volume, fast paced work environment. Superior computer and organizational skills required.
Culinary degree a definite plus.
