The Copper Beech Inn is a highly regarded 13-room country inn, located 2 hours from New York City and 2 hours from Boston along the Connecticut shoreline.
This award-winning established country inn seeks an executive chef to help bring it to the next level. Operations include 40-seat casual French Brasserie (voted Best New Restaurant in Connecticut Magazine January 2007) and a 65-seat formal dining room. On site private functions. Opportunity for creative expression in the formal room well suited to inventive contemporary cuisine.
We are looking for a highly-motivated, energetic self-starter with interest in creating memorable dining experiences for our discerning customers. This is a hands-on, working chef position.
This position requires a high energy level, a positive mental attitude, outgoing personality for interaction with guests, good communication and organizational skills.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
All culinary operations for a full service restaurant and brasserie serving dinner as well as private functions
Supervise and manage activities of sous chef, cooks and other kitchen personnel
Menu design, cost analysis, purchasing, production and quality control
Solid leadership, management and organizational skills Experience with food costs and payroll budgets Have a proven track record in menu development including but not limited to creation, costing and implementation. Sanitation and HACCP knowledge Excellent time management skills. Must be able to prioritize and successfully execute multiple events simultaneously.
