Position Description:
We seek a Chef to prepare nutritionally balanced meals for our clients and to interact with our many volunteers in our new state-of-the art kitchen. Reporting to the Executive Chef, the Chef will execute a daily prep list, prepare a variety of foods for our home delivered meals program, maintain sanitary conditions within the kitchen, assist with receiving and storing food deliveries, and supervise kitchen volunteers. Quality, safety, and friendliness will be the hallmarks of the Chefs work. This is an excellent opportunity for a chef or sous chef to apply their talents to saving lives and serving the community.
This uniquely rewarding position requires culinary talent and exceptional people skills. The successful candidate will have at least two years of professional cooking experience, advanced knowledge of food preparation techniques, a food handlers license, knowledge of standard sanitary procedures, the ability to be physically mobile, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Additionally, candidates must have a genuine love for people, the ability to give clear instruction, patience, and an appreciation for diversity. Job offer contingent upon a pre-employment drug test.
