|Position Description:||Gramercy Tavern, a Union Square Hospitality Group restaurant is currently conducting interviews for the position of Executive Pastry Chef. |
Applicants should have experience creating a menu of traditional American pastries and desserts, with an aptitude towards incorporating modern savory touches harmonious with the style of Executive Chef Tom Colicchio.
The Executive Pastry Chef and the pastry staff are responsible for both The Tavern and the Main Dining Room, including dessert amuses, petits fours, and guest favors. Must also be able to manage both high volume production and supervision of a large pastry team. Lunch service averages 150 covers, and The Tavern averages 350 for dinner; the main dining room is prix-fixe.
The ideal candidate will be a Pastry Chef with a strong fine-dining background and 5 to 8 years of experience, or a pastry sous chef with a high-end, high volume background who is searching for a place to make his or her mark in the New York dining scene.
