POSITION OPEN: Chef Instructor, Culinary Technology Program
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Full time, 12 months
DUTIES: Teach a full range of technical skills and principles relative to culinary technology. Support the maintenance of the kitchen/laboratory facilities including procedures associated with sanitation and safety regulations; engage in curriculum and course development; advise students; reinforce program through industry and community interface; coach culinary competition teams; participate as an active leader of the Culinary Club; and share in the team approach of the Hospitality Education department. All classes are taught on the Main Campus.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: (1) Associate degree in Culinary Technology, Foodservice Technology or related field. (2) Five years experience working at upscale facilities in the capacity of Sous Chef or Executive Chef with documented management responsibility for recipe/menu development and execution, and employee supervision and instruction. (3) Demonstrated proficiency in protein fabrication and garde manger. (4)Computer skills including Word and Excel. (4) Eligible for or in possession of American Culinary Federation (ACF) certification as Sous Chef.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: (1) Baccalaureate degree in Culinary Arts or related field plus five years experience working at upscale facilities in the capacity of Sous Chef or Executive Chef with documented management responsibility for recipe/menu development and execution, and employee supervision and instruction. (2) Well versed and experience in culinary competitions. (3) Experience teaching in higher education. (4) Industry recognized certifications.
SALARY RANGE: $45,606 $47,708 depending on degree and certifications
